DELIVERING SAFER ROADS FOR THE HAWKESBURY
Three dangerous roads in the Hawkesbury will receive safety upgrades as part of the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program.
Drummond Street in South Windsor, Rifle Range Road in Bligh Park and Terrace Rd from North Richmond are three of 66 dangerous crash sites across NSW that are included in the Black Spot program’s 2023-24 round of funding.
Federal Member for Macquarie Susan Templeman said the safety upgrades will help reduce dangerous traffic incidents.
“Residents in South Windsor, Bligh Park and North Richmond will be all too familiar with these roads. I’m glad that we can help deliver these upgrades to prevent more accidents and keep residents safer on our local roads.
“In South Windsor we’re delivering $350,000 worth of safety upgrades to Drummond St, including slow points and raised thresholds.
“Rifle Range Rd in Bligh Park will receive $200,000 worth of upgrades with new intersections and pedestrian crossings.
“Terrace Rd in North Richmond will receive $940,000 in upgrades including a sealed shoulder on the curve, flexible barriers on the roadside and vehicle activated signs.
“We’ve seen in previous rounds of Black Spot Program funding that improvements like this make a real difference in reducing accidents meaning more people arrive home safely.” The Black Spot Program engages all levels of Government to deliver safer roads for residents.
