The Hawkesbury has been waiting 8 years for the Federal Government to deliver a headspace.
It would provide young people with an easy way to reach out early for youth-focused mental health help.
Young people, and their families, should not be asked to wait any longer. A headspace for the Hawkesbury shouldn’t be delayed to serve as an election promise. It shouldn’t be a political football.
In the past 18 months alone, young people in the Hawkesbury have dealt with drought, bushfires, floods, and COVID. They have had their education disrupted, they have lost jobs, had to find new ones, and missed out on marking many milestones.
I have long called for a full headspace service for the Hawkesbury, so more young people dealing with mental health issues get support early. I know my daughter feels if she’d had access to a headspace when she was a young teenager it might have made her journey a little easier.
Let’s send a message to the Morrison Government that we need a headspace now. Sign the petition and together let’s help the next generations thrive.
