INCLUSION AND INNOVATION AT HOBARTVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOL

Shadow Assistant Minister for Schools, Andrew Giles joined Member for Macquarie Susan Templeman to visit Hobartville Public School during Education Week.

Ms Templeman and Mr Giles met with students from Hobartville’s support unit, which caters for close to 40 children with special needs, including Vice Captain, Ambrose Mathie and Bella-Rose White. They also met with Stage 1 student, Levi Douglass, who is currently learning to read and write Braille.

“I have been visiting schools across Australia and this was the first time I’ve seen Braille taught this way,” Mr Giles said. “It was very impressive.”
