SEASON LAUNCH FOR WINDSOR WOLVES

10 March 2021

Federal Member for Macquarie Susan Templeman has wished the Windsor Wolves the very best of luck for 2021 following the club’s season launch last weekend.

The launch for the Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield teams was held at Windsor Leagues Club on Saturday, March 6, ahead of Round One, which takes place on March 13.

“It was great to attend the season launch on Saturday night and meet the new recruits and coaches of both teams,” Ms Templeman said.

“There is a lot of experience being brought into the club with older players like Tony Williams, and it was great to see the maturity they bring into what I’m told is a young team.

“I was very pleased to hear new coach and former Western Suburbs player Chris Yates describe the ground ‘as good as a Queensland Cup ground’ thanks to the grandstand that was my 2010 election promise to the community.

“Parents and grandparents of the junior teams tell me they’re so grateful to have shelter from the sun and rain while watching a game.

“Wolves president Ross Jones, is optimistic about the season ahead, and I have to say there is a really great energy about the club.

“The Wolves will play at home this weekend against Hills Bulls in Round One of both comps, and I know there’s going to be a significant amount of local support to cheer them on.

“The easing of COVID restrictions means it’s going to be a huge day of footy, with lots of family entertainment also available off the field.

“After COVID, bushfires and floods in the Hawkesbury last year, the importance of bringing the community together – particularly through sport – has never been more important.

“I wish the Wolves all the very best for the season ah
