ART’S FORUM COMES TO ORANGE

02 March 2023

The Federal Government’s Special Envoy for the Arts, Susan Templeman MP, Federal Member for Calare, Andrew Gee, and the Office for the Arts will host an arts forum at Orange Regional Gallery on Friday 3 March.

The forum is an opportunity to learn more about the new National Cultural Policy - Revive: a place for every story, a story for every place, and how it will benefit artists and creatives in the regions and discuss ideas for its implementation.

The new National Cultural Policy has the goal of making sure there is a place for every story, and a story for every place, especially the regions. Revive was developed after extensive consultation with the arts community. More than 1,200 submissions were received, and 14 town hall meetings were held across the country, including one in Bathurst.

“Andrew Gee has been part of the earlier consultation, and I look forward to hosting this event alongside him.

“Revive will help the arts in regional Australia to flourish and recognises that regional communities deserve access to all the benefits that a thriving cultural sector provides.

“I look forward to continuing our conversations with artists and arts workers around Australia to ensure that this policy is implemented effectively.”

Quotes attributable to Mr Gee:
