COMMEMORATING 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF RAAF BASE RICHMOND WITH AIRSHOW
A re-elected Albanese Government will ensure the 100th anniversary of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Richmond is marked with a commemorative airshow – RIC2025.
Following the success of last year’s RAAF Base Richmond Open Day, which saw close to 15,000 public attendees, RIC2025 would showcase flying and static aircraft, Defence exhibits, simulators and much more.
Airshows are important avenues for the community to engage with the RAAF, promoting public confidence and awareness of the cutting-edge capabilities, skills and dedication of the RAAF.
RIC2025 would be an opportunity to showcase the very best of the RAAF and its capabilities, as well as the opportunities for a unique career in the Australian Defence Force.
This would see aircraft from the RAAF and private entities participate in the air display and provide an exhibition for industry from within and outside the region.
This would be a two day event bringing together the community, Defence and aviation professionals and enthusiasts, boosting community engagement, tourism and the local economy.
The following can be attributed to the Deputy Prime Minister, Richard Marles:
“Susan has been advocating for this event following the success of the Open Day last year.
“As home to the RAAF’s C-130J Hercules, RAAF Base Richmond is important to the local community and commemorating 100 years here is a nod to its strong ties and long history.”
The following can be attributed to Member for Macquarie, Susan Templeman:
“Following the success of last year’s open day, we want to see something that really acknowledges the role RAAF Base Richmond has in the local community for its 100 year anniversary.
“This will be a really special moment and the community wants to celebrate and acknowledge the work of our ADF personnel through RIC2025.”
