Today the Australian Communications and Media Authority has advised me that they have concluded the process of deciding the allocation of the permanent Hawkesbury community radio licence.
Following this process, they have granted the permanent licence to Pulse FM. I congratulate Pulse FM on being awarded the licence.
This process began in 2017, and it has been a difficult 5 years as the number of temporary licences grew from two to seven.
I acknowledge the disappointment the unsuccessful temporary licence-holders will be feeling.
I thank all those who have volunteered to provide community radio while this process was underway.
There is a wealth of talent in the Hawkesbury and I look forward to seeing Pulse FM's ongoing collaboration with the community.
